What to Expect

What to Expect

We are an open community and love having visitors; it is a regular part of community life. Here are a few details to help you understand how we interact, and what you can expect.

Before worship

Typically, people arrive about 10-15 minutes before worship begins. There are greeters and ushers to help direct any need you might have.

Dress:  You will find a variety of attires on any given Sunday, from shorts and jeans to dresses, suits and ties. Our desire is to show respect as we worship God together in His house, and we would love to have you join us.

Nursery:  We provide optional nursery care for children, and we have caregivers who volunteer each Sunday.  We also have quite a number of babies and children present in our worship services, and we have a “cry room” in the foyer.  It is important to us to worship together as families, and to not be separated by age groups (with the exception of some babies and toddlers in the nursery).

During worship

Our style is quite simple. We desire to dialogue with God, as we hear Him speak to us through His Word and we respond with penitence, prayer and praise. Our desire is to keep the focus on Christ, our need for Him, and the joy of knowing and glorifying Him.

We sing psalms and hymns together, usually accompanied by a piano or organ. There is time for individual quiet reflection and prayer together led by the pastor.

At the center of our service is a message from God’s Word to us. Each sermon lasts about 30 minutes and will contain both explanation and application to our daily life. You can find sermons on our Sermon Audio page.

We love to participate in baptism and communion. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper, usually during the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. You are welcome to join us; please speak to one of the elders beforehand (we have a small handout that can help you understand more).

Afterward…

We are brothers and sisters with a familial bond in Christ, and after worship we love to connect and encourage one another. It is a welcome environment for kids and adults alike, to enjoy a cup of coffee and snack, and mingle.

Join us for Sunday worship; be encouraged or refreshed in your Christian walk and experience the gift of community!
